A Quick Guide to Getting a Job Quoted – What Helps Me to Help You

When you get in touch for a quote, I want to make things as quick and straightforward as possible. The more info you can give me up front, the easier it is to give you an accurate price - and sometimes, a fixed quote without even needing a visit.
Here’s what helps me help you:
📸 Photos really do the job
If you can snap a couple of clear photos of what needs doing – whether it’s a broken fence panel, a tap that needs replacing, or a wall that needs painting – that’s gold. It saves a lot of guesswork.
📏 Give me the details
Where apprpriate, measurements are always useful. For example, if you want a shelf putting up or a TV mounted, let me know the size and type of wall it’s going on.
🛠️ Describe the job
A short description of what’s needed is great – e.g. “replace kitchen tap with a new one (already purchased)” or “paint small downstairs toilet, including ceiling and door.”
⏱️ Let me know your timescale
If it’s urgent, I’ll do my best to prioritise you. If it’s flexible, even better – I can often slot smaller jobs in between larger ones.
Remember, there’s no pressure or obligation. I’ll always be honest about what’s involved, and if it’s not something I do, I’ll tell you straight. Just drop me a message, and we’ll take it from there.
